About Us

I separated in early 2016 thinking that we could divorce, with children, in an amicable aspect. However, that quickly turned on its head when my soon-to-be-ex-wife told me, “you don’t deserve custody of your children.” I knew then that it was going to be a fight. For no other reason than we were going to get divorced. Being the first person within my inner circle to go through a divorce, I did not have anyone that I could turn to for advice. I know I made a lot of mistakes, many of which probably cost me more in attorney fees that were necessary.  So, I wanted to start a site to assist fathers going through similar issues. At least this can be a place to get some non-legal advice and hear what others have gone through.

Basically, learning from my mistakes so others do not repeat it. Also, I was dumb enough to think that the divorce would be friendly. I was even talking about getting an apartment close by and helping out when I could. I mean, just because she and I did not work out did not mean the kids had to suffer. However, as I wrote in the first section, after my soon-to-be-ex-wife said that, I knew I was in for a ride. Additionally, you learn a lot about your partner when the topic of divorce goes down. I know this sounds like I am jaded; however, I did learn how much of a narcissist my ex-wife actually was. Even from comments she made during our marriage.

I wanted to start this website to help fathers preparing for, going through, and coming out of the divorce process. Having done it myself, I know how taxing it can be. Also, I wanted to provide some references and lessons learned from going through it, wishing I had someone hold me more to some of these items.

So, that is a little about me and why I wanted to start this. Provide some helpful items and stories from other people.
